Because the pigment does not penetrate the blood stream, it is rare to experience an allergic reaction. However, a test can be performed prior to application to ensure you do not experience an allergic reaction. To prevent swelling, ice is applied during the procedure and may be used post procedure. However, most will experience little to no swelling.

Clients receiving lip procedures who have a history of cold sores should take 1,000 mg of Lysine for each of the three days prior to the procedure, as well as each of the three days following the procedure. It is preferable to have your physician prescribe an anti-viral medication.

Eyelashes rarely fall out, but should this occur, they will grow back.
